In the event of inclement weather, school may be closed or starting times delayed. The same conditions may also necessitate early dismissal. School closings or late start determinations due to weather will generally occur before morning bus routes begin.

The following television and radio stations will be contacted for publication of inclement weather plans: Fox 4, NBC 5, CBS 11, Wise County Messenger

In the event of inclement weather, Chico ISD will alert parents using the Dragon Alert System. This alert will come in the form of a text, phone call, email or all three depending on your communication preferences. If inclement weather plans have not been announced it can be assumed that school will be in session. In addition to the Dragon Alert System, we will post to our Chico ISD Facebook Page as time permits.

Decisions to alter the school schedule will be made based on the ability of Chico ISD to safely transport students to and from school. Any decisions made will be based on the most accurate information at hand.
