Chico ISD Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the passing of one of our Middle School students.
Such a sudden loss of a classmate can have a profound effect on students even if they are not in the same class. It would not be unusual for students to behave or express themselves differently during the next few weeks. Counselors are on campus today to support our students and staff members, and they will continue to be available as needed. Funeral arrangements are pending, and we will notify you once they are finalized. I ask that you keep the South family in your thoughts and prayers over the days ahead.
Thank you for your thoughts, prayers and your continued support for Chico ISD.
Sincerely,
Randy Brawner
Superintendent
Chico Independent School District
